Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme is a faith based organisation implementing health, development and relief projects in Manicaland province of Zimbabwe since 1992.
Job PurposeOverall supervision of organisation’s finance functions
Duties
Appraise existing financial systems and policies; Develop and oversee financial systems and policies, verify that financial systems/policies are in compliance with widely accepted accounting norms; Facilitate roll out of relevant organisational policies and systems such as management information systems; Ensure that the Director and programme staff systematically receive financial reports to assist programme/management planning and decision making; Oversee scheduling for external audits, review and act on findings of the audit reports; Lead, from a finance perspective, the annual development of administration and programme budgets, project budgets and manage the process of interim budget reviews; Analyse, prepare and submit cash flow projections in line with the organisation’s annual budget; Scrutinise and collate monthly administration budget financial reports and programme tracking reports; Ensure organisation meets all its statutory obligations; To prepare monthly reports detailing, income and expenditure, intercompany account schedules, donation schedules and variance analysis; To ensure the financial integrity of the operation with regards to controls, systems, financial reporting; To ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports; To manage the financial and compliance aspects of government and donors and ensure that expenses are incurred consistent with grant agreements; To prepare monthly internal financial management reports for the Director and variance analysis, where necessary; To undertake any other activity that is assigned by the Director

Essential qualifications and experience Degree in Accountancy and professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA or CIS); Ability to work in a team.
Desirable experience 5years experience in a similar role in any reputable institution, preferably NGO; Experience managing funds from multiple donors; Experience managing finance staff
